Can't believe I've never gotten around to reading this. I guess I'd better start making my way through Lewis' collection. Fascinating allegory of people from hell getting to enter heaven and have some conversations with some of the heavenly citizens. Lewis uses these conversations to show how the heart of hell and darkness is bound up within a persons soul and how they don't even want heaven. He cleverly simulates various types of people with different hangups. The creative details he gives about heaven and hell are thought-provoking. My only complaint is that it seems that people are offered a second chance after their death. I couldn't tell if that was just for the sake of his allegory or if it had to do with his anglican point of view.
I am nuts about books. I read on all kinds of topics. I attempt to review each book I read for the sake of my own enrichment as well as conversation starters with others.
You never know what you will find in an attic! Usually there is a hodgepodge of things buried under dust.
Most of what is included here are notes to myself. The majority of folks will not find interest in these posts.
