This book is a treasure trove of references, and it covers aspects of church history that I am less familiar with - which intrigued me to a point. I also was fascinated with this books premise of how revivalism intersected with social reform, women in ministry in the 19th century, and the unity among the major denominations of the 19th century. As I got further on into the book, I lost interest because I felt it was mostly a lot of very specific particulars with not a lot of new things to think about. So, I mostly skimmed the later half of the book. This was recommended to me by a friend, and I'm glad to have it on my shelf for reference.

I am nuts about books. I read on all kinds of topics. I attempt to review each book I read for the sake of my own enrichment as well as conversation starters with others.
