I want to be careful today

June 8, 2020

“The whole commandment that I command you today you shall be careful to do” (Deuteronomy 8:1)

I want this word “careful” to describe my heart disposition. It means to pay close attention to, to tend, and to watch over.

I know that there is a specific context for This word with Israel in the book of Deuteronomy. I am considering the larger, overarching meaning with it.

I want to be a person who pays close attention to God and his word. The thing is, I often am not that person. My heart is many times is divided, conflicted, and distracted.

So, today is another opportunity. By God’s grace, I endeavor to be careful, to pay close attention, to God and is word.

Book Reviews

I am nuts about books. I read on all kinds of topics. I attempt to review each book I read for the sake of my own enrichment as well as conversation starters with others.
